A B O U T
Zahra Akthar is an Art Psychotherapist & Visual Artist from Staffordshire, England. She is passionate about giving vulnerable individuals a voice through creative expression. Her main area of research and interest is working with Refugees.
Whilst studying her BA (hons) degree in Surface Pattern Design, Zahra decided to utilise her skills and passion for creativity to help others and pursue a career in Art Therapy. She obtained her Master’s in Art Therapy from the University of Chester in 2017. Zahra currently works with the Refugee Council on their partnership project titled “Surviving to Thriving”. Alongside this, Zahra also works with charities and organisations delivering Art Therapy to children and young people in schools.
